Seen from above, the top reads like a cut section: the irregular line of the live edge on the outside, the dense mass in dark walnut tones, the pale cream bands of lighter wood that break it, and at the centre a clear epoxy channel crossing from end to end. The thin black opaque resin poured along the bank sharpens the border of the transparent stretch and holds the two pieces of wood apart. Because the clear epoxy lets light through, the floor beneath shows inside the slab, so the table picks up the colour of wherever it stands. The voids at the edge and the split at one corner are filled with that same black resin, leaving the timber's history visible instead of hidden. Surface and rounded edges are polished to a high gloss, smooth under the hand while the grain keeps reading deep. Below, four brass-toned metal hairpin legs splay outward and hand the mass over to a few thin lines. Kept at side-table height, Dicle settles beside an armchair as easily as it does alone in a corner.
