Colour arrives first: the lightly embossed weave breaks the light into small highlights instead of returning one flat block of pigment, so a grey and beige room takes its tone from this seat alone. Against the honey grain of the natural wood frame the saturation reads cheerful rather than loud, warm timber tempering vivid cloth. The form follows the same logic of lightness, with the back cushion held a few fingers clear of the seat so the padding seems to hang inside the frame. Each arm sweeps forward and down in one continuous line into the front leg, and the open triangle left beneath it trims visual bulk from the volume. The seat is broad and generous, its edges traced by a piped seam that marks where upholstery meets timber. Four tapered legs splay gently outward and narrow where they touch the floor. In a corner it is the chair you pull up to read in, across from a desk a second seat for a guest, and at the head of a long table the most comfortable place to sit.
