There are no legs; the piece meets the ground along two slender lines rather than four points. A horizontal wooden rail beneath the seat ties the runners together, so the frame reads as one length. Honey-brown grain follows the polished surface through every curve, changing direction where the wood turns and showing the hand that shaped it. The cream and ecru weave, patterned with a fine swirling motif, balances the darker wood; one wide seat cushion, a tall back cushion and two rectangular pillows define seating for two without dividing it. Indoors it settles easily beside a window, and on a covered terrace it can be turned toward the view. Because the runners rest in a continuous line, the piece looks planted exactly where it stands.
