The seat is hollowed from a heavy block, its saddle-like dip and raised edges keeping the sitter centred as it rocks. A row of narrow, irregular slots, some hooked, crosses the middle of that surface as pattern and relief from its mass. The back is a single wide panel leaving grain and natural knots open to view, angled back to carry the shoulders. The arms stay slim, their ends curling downward, joined to the frame by an angled elbow standing proud of it; each tip closed with a pale grey cap set apart from the wood. No upholstery and no veneer; beyond those caps, nothing is added to the deep walnut tone under a matte satin finish. Even at rest, the arc drawn by the runners reads as movement waiting to begin.
