The front of the Side TV Unit is shaped by a single continuous cut: a line that starts high at both ends, drops into a broad hollow on either side and climbs back into a ridge through the centre, right under the open compartment. In raking light a thin, long shadow gathers along the edge of each hollow; by midday the light flattens and the same face reads almost level. The walnut grain runs with the curve, collects into darker mineral streaks toward the right end, and the satin-oiled surface feels silky under the hand. The drawer lines follow the wave instead of cutting across it, so no handles were needed and the lip of the hollow becomes the grip. The open middle compartment leaves room for devices, while the deep drawers below it and to either side keep cables and daily clutter out of sight. Below, bronze-toned crescents pass over slim legs that cross at each end, holding the thick block well clear of the floor. Change the light in the room and the same surface draws itself again.
