The structure that carries Sintra also defines how it looks. On each side, curved wooden pieces meet at the centre to form an X-shaped leg, and a darker block with rounded corners set at the meeting point turns that joint into a visible detail. The armrest leaves the back, sweeps forward in a curve and drops down to meet this block. Slats show at the back, and tufted back cushions and thick seat cushions sit within the frame. The coffee table uses the same X-shaped legs: the legs at each end are joined by a single lengthwise rail, and the top is covered with glass. In the installation photos in the gallery the same frame appears with grey and petrol-green cushions on enclosed glass balconies, while the other images show it with cream cushions on a terrace.
