The table is built from three circles nested inside one another: a thick, softly rounded walnut ring on the outside, a glass panel spanning the whole opening, and a hand-carved dark wood basin resting beneath that glass. The gap deliberately left between ring and basin catches the light and reads as a bright halo around the top, narrowing or widening as you move around it. The carved basin dips gently toward its centre, and a fine incised channel traces the edge of that hollow like a quiet boundary line. The outer ring is assembled from separate lengths of walnut with the joints left visible, each piece chosen so the grain keeps following the curve. Below, the body rises from one mass of timber, drawn in at the waist and opening into a broad, rounded foot. At dining height, that single pedestal removes the corner problem of a four-legged table: chairs pull in anywhere around the setting and no one's knee meets a leg. Under high-gloss lacquer, the rippling grain turns into movement that deepens through the glass.
